W H A T to wear -- family

My little family. As a photographer sometimes I forget to capture my own as I am busy taking photos of yours!

My little family. As a photographer sometimes I forget to capture my own as I am busy taking photos of yours!

Family photos — in my opinion — are very important!

IN FACT full family sessions are my absolute favorite to photograph! I am so passionate about capturing the little moments during the session. The kisses on the cheeks, the tickling, the brushing the hair out of the face, the fun looks we give our youngest! All of theses moments are so near and dear to my heart! Don’t worry, you won’t have to come up with these on your own, I do direct you and your family with fun prompts to keep the session fun and exciting!

I highly recommend booking a full session for your family at least every other year if not yearly! Families change so much and so fast that capturing the year in a photo allows us to look back and remember what we used to look like and the memories of that year!

One of the biggest struggles for families, really moms — let’s be honest, is what in the heck to even wear? How do we pick clothes that match? How do we make sure we aren’t all wearing the same thing? What color scheme do we even go with? The list of struggles goes on and on! I am here to make this process a bit easier!

Coming at you with TEN tips for what to wear!

WHAT TO WEAR — FAMILY EDITION

Take Some Time To Plan It Out

Pick A Color Scheme

Don’t Try To Match Everyone

Go For Classic If You Can

Think Texture And Layers

Limit Patterns

No Graphics

Accessories Can Add A Lot

Lay It Out And Take A Pic

Consider Your Background

Remember — less Is more. I start with a piece I really like might be my dress or the boys outfit. I then base the other outfits around that one piece. Usually that “statement” piece has a pattern so that I can pull the other outfits from those pattern colors.
